General Scope Of Work

Under the supervision of the Director, Legal & Compliance Officer, HMT, the Legal Manager, HK & Macau is responsible for providing the entities in HK and Macau with general corporate/commercial legal advice, and legal support on a wide variety of business activities

Job Responsibilities
  • Advise on handling of disputes and litigation matters, including retaining and instructing outside counsel
  • Draft and negotiate of commercial undertakings, which may include: sales, tender, outsourcing services agreements as well as various business agreements
  • Provide practical, strategic and pragmatic advice to the management in order to fulfill the requirements of corporate compliance and legislation in HK & Macau
  • Review the training needs of corporate compliance and legislation in HK & Macau, design and conduct appropriate trainings applicable to the business
  • Provide legal support on potential claims from regulators or commercial related projects
  • Participates and supports Otis compliance programs, including trainings, communications, investigations and policies making
  • Performs responsibilities in compliance with the Otis Code of Ethics.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree (LLB or LLD) from a recognized law school
  • A minimum of 4 years’ post qualification legal experience in house or in private practice, experience in litigation is preferred
  • Business acumen and ability to provide pragmatic business oriented legal advice and solutions to management
  • Good natured, strong work ethics and advanced interpersonal and diplomacy skills
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin)
Sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
